Yellow stained nails can be a turn off for nail polish junkies. Our nails can become yellow or stained due to various reasons. One of the most common reasons for nail discoloration is frequent application of nail paints. Use ingredients which have a natural whitening effect. Don’t be afraid and follow these ways in your nail care regime to get rid of yellow stained nails.
Lemon Juice:
Lemon acts as a natural astringent and can be used to whiten nails. Soak your nails in a bowl of freshly squeezed lemon juice mixed with some water for 10-15 minutes. After treating, rinse off your hands and apply lotion to retain moisture. Use regularly to see the results.
Lemon Slice:
Take lemon peel and rub it onto your nails for few minutes. You can also use the lemon slice or lemon which has been squeezed out and used.
Avoid using dark colored nail paints:
Stop using dark nail paints for a while. Even if you can’t stop using nail paints make sure you use a clear base nail polish first to prevent nail discoloration.
Baking Soda:
Baking soda is also a natural whitening agent. In a bowl, mix it with water or lime juice and apply it onto your nails and under the tips using cotton swab or rub it lightly with a soft toothbrush. Rinse it off after few minutes.
Use Nail Buffer:
To lighten nail discoloration, you can use a nail buffer (I use Faces Nail buffer). Buff your nails lightly in one direction. Buffing helps in nail growth by increasing circulation. Too much nail buffing, hard buffing or incorrect buffing may actually weaken and damage your nails.
Use a whitening toothpaste:
Toothpaste also helps in whitening yellow nails. Take a small amount of toothpaste and rub it onto your nails lightly with the help of a soft toothbrush. After rinsing apply a hand moisturizer. Make sure you use whitening toothpaste.
Nail polish remover:
Always use a good nail polish remover and remove it thoroughly.
Lemon Essential Oil:
Lemon essential oil can also used to whiten your nails. Pour some oil in a bowl and soak your nails into it for few minutes. This procedure would brighten your nails and make them stain free.
Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide:
Mix 3 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide in a bowl and apply the paste on your nails with a Q tip. Leave the mixture on for few minutes then wash it off with water.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!! I am up at the lake with my husband and had a great dinner with a good friend of ours.
